Our Wedding

Our story begins with chance, music, confidence, and love. And yes, let me get this over with. I did tell Alliana “I think I love you” on the first day we met.My band, 59 Shop, was playing a typical gig at our favorite local bar, 3rd&amp;3rd. The night became atypical when a new person danced into the venue. As I remember it, my world was black and white until the goddess in an orange dress waltzed in, or should I say, salsa’d in. During a set break, I used my temporary and timely musician’s confidence to approach Alliana and ask her to stay. And she did.A couple of months later, she invited me to join her in Italy, where we performed as an acoustic duo for a wedding. When she asked me to join, she said, “instead of staying for two weeks, we’re going to stay for 3 months and backpack and play music all around Europe.” There was no part of me that was ever going to say no. I did, however, need to get a passport since I had never really left the country.Two years later we found ourselves back in Italy. Again, we backpacked and took trains across much of Europe. Similar to the first trip, we traveled with our guitars, a speaker, and one backpack containing all of our clothes. This time, , allowing our families to take part in our travels.You really get to know someone on trips like these. We realized we can experience every emotion together. We trust each other deeply. This trust isn’t decided by truthfulness alone, but a transcending acknowledgement of each other's existence and a willingness to witness the peaks and valleys of life together. Love.In the summer of 2026, Alliana, her mother, Maria, and I traveled around Italy searching for a church and venue for us to marry in. Throughout another 40 days in Europe, things fell into place by the grace of God. Although it was no easy task, it is one that we will remember forever.Lastly, Alliana and I cannot express how much our family and friends mean to us. We would have never met if it wasn’t for our friends bringing us together. The memories we’ve been able to create with both of our friends and families are priceless. Our Story

Travel & Lodging

There are two parts to Bergamo: Città Bassa (Lower City) and Città Alta (Upper City).All of our wedding festivities will take place in Città Alta, so we HIGHLY recommend staying there if possible. Surrounded by magnificent 16th-century Venetian walls, Città Alta is the historic heart of Bergamo and the place we fell in love with.No matter where you stay within the city walls, you'll be just a short walk from beautiful churches, ancient archaeological sites, historic monuments, incredible restaurants, cafés, and breathtaking views. Where to Stay

We've had wonderful experiences using both Airbnb and Booking.com, and you'll find plenty of charming apartments, boutique hotels, and vacation rentals throughout Città Alta at a variety of price points.If accommodations inside the walls are unavailable, staying in Città Bassa is also a great option. Flying into Milan (Recommended)

For most of our guests traveling from the United States, we recommend flying into Milan (Milano Malpensa Airport). It offers far more direct international flight options than Bergamo and is typically the easiest and most affordable choice.From Milan, you can take a train to Bergamo in about 45–60 minutes for approximately €7.Once you arrive at Bergamo's train station:Exit the station and walk toward the left side of the McDonald's building.Catch Bus Line 1 toward Città Alta.Enter your accommodation address into Google Maps, and it will tell you exactly which stop to get off at.Google Maps is excellent for navigating public transportation throughout Italy, and we highly recommend downloading it before your trip.

Flying into Bergamo (BGY)

Another great option is flying into Orio al Serio International Airport (BGY), also known as Milan Bergamo Airport.While there are no direct flights from Florida, you may find convenient itineraries with a connection in another European city. Bergamo Airport is one of Italy's busiest airports and serves as a major hub for Ryanair and several other European airlines.From the airport, you can:Take Bus Line 1 directly to Città Alta.Take a taxi.Use Uber (availability may vary).If taking the bus, we recommend simply tapping your credit card to pay rather than purchasing a paper ticket, especially during busy travel times.One important note: Vehicle access inside Città Alta is restricted. If you're taking a taxi or rideshare, be aware that your driver may not be permitted to drive all the way to your accommodation. In some cases, you may have a short walk from the nearest accessible drop-off point.
